Garden Art is headed by Michael Renecle and James Showers, and includes a wide network of artists, craftspeople and technicians who make up the teams that help create any one of our bespoke pieces.

Michael is an artist, engineer and builder with a remarkable working knowledge of materials . He has an intuitive and creative approach to structures and practical matters, and for some years taught design and practical building at a local college that is renowned  for its wide range of innovative building projects. He has also worked in the commercial construction contract managment, and helped found the London Decking Company in 1995

James has a lifetime love of working with wood, but more recently appreciates the extraordinary
scope allowed by mixing materials and technologies to create beauty in the landscape. He brings a level of care and commitment to the work which shows in the detail, the finish, and the installation.....as well as the relationships with our clients. He began building sundecks in Canada in 1977, building them as design features before others had even heard of them.

Together we have been influenced by the movement towards deep ecology, and this is reflected in the materials and processes we'll use, as well as in our concern that an item sit harmoniously in the landscape, and for beauty to overwhelm the purely practical.
